The Eastside Road project turned a narrow, unused side yard into a finished transition space, with timber-edged steps set into decorative river rock leading up from a lower gravel bed to the main paver patio. Large boulders line both sides of the run, holding the grade and giving the space a built-in, permanent feel rather than a temporary rock fill.
Every step was framed and leveled before the rock base went in, so the timber risers stay square and the drainage rock stays contained instead of migrating onto the patio over time.
