The Clifton Road property has a steep grade running alongside the house, and the Kalagan crew built a long timber-framed staircase with a crushed-gravel tread to make the slope usable and safe to climb, tying into a poured concrete retaining wall and a rip-rap rock border at the base.
Each timber run was set and backfilled in stages so the structure stays square over the full length of the climb, giving the homeowner a permanent, code-minded solution instead of an eroding dirt path.
